    Barrick Gold

    Metals & Mining

“In just one Oxygen Plant, data in the PI System™ was instrumental in optimizing operations, leading to $1M each month in energy savings.”  A customer since 1998, Barrick Gold recently signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with OSIsoft. With the gold mining industry undergoing a major downturn, Mining Information Technology Senior Manager Iain Allen recognized the impact to Barrick Gold and initiated the business case for Barrick Gold to move to an EA with OSIsoft.

This presentation will also cover how the Enterprise Agreement was justified and approved by senior management, despite being a significantly unbudgeted item, requested at the end of the fiscal year in a period of severe fiscal austerity. Learn how the company plans to use the EA for training, infrastructure deployment, energy and water management, process plant optimization and mobile equipment.

    Evergreen Packaging

    Pulp & Paper

“Get Value Now”.  Evergreen Packaging is one of our longest serving customers. Their pulp and paper mills have been using the PI System to monitor operational performance for over 28 years. By 2013, they were facing a number of challenges, including aging server software and interfaces, lack of enterprise-wide situational awareness and rising costs. Evergreen signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with OSIsoft in 2014.

Now, Evergreen is working hand in hand with the OSIsoft EA team to monetize their data. The company is using the EA toolbox and new technologies to full advantage, including Enterprise Program Management, OSIsoft Field Service Engineers, PI AF Cookbook Sessions and PI AF Workshops. Evergreen is transforming their business, having transitioned from using the PI System as a pure historian into an asset framework – maximizing value from the PI System and gaining operational intelligence – one business solution at a time.

    Australian Gas & Light (AGL)

    Power & Utilities

“Creating one true secure source of information available to everyone.” As AGL advanced their corporate strategy and expanded their business, they were faced with disparate and problematic data systems across the organization.    In their journey to become a data-driven organization across all operation, AGL met initial challenges, included disparate SCADA systems and WANs, distributed data management systems with no central access, multiple solutions for performance and loss analysis, lack of data quality and precision … all leading to inefficient use of human resources.

To address these issues, AGL realized they needed an enterprise-wide data infrastructure that would provide a single data source for all applications. To ensure rapid time to value, uniform rollout and ongoing monitoring to maintain the infrastructure at peak performance, they transitioned to the Enterprise Agreement Program with OSIsoft.
