Wireless and Mobile Computing Initiatives and PI
A Task Management (TM) system is a critical component of a Resources wide effort at Shell Canada to ensure the integrity of every operation; from an equipment to a process unit, a process area and ultimately, the overall facility. TM allows you to schedule tasks on a time or condition basis, ensure that you are aware of the tasks that need to be completed and provides tools to report on the results of all the tasks. Tasks refer to all the routine inspections and interventions targeted to keep equipment and processes within normal operating conditions at a site. Using PI, PIModuleDB, PIManualLogger and mobile PocketPCs this presentation describes the Task Management project efforts underway at the Caroline Gas Complex.
