Windows Integrated Security for the PI Server
Presentation explains a new model for PI system security in the 2008 server release. The new model integrates with Windows security, providing support for active directory, windows users/groups, and mapping of authenticated Windows principals to PI Identities. This allows more flexible configuration, more secure systems, and less need for maintenance.

Hans-Herbert Gimmler is a senior OSIsoft engineer with experience in PI product consulting, installation, migration, support and training since 1998. He worked with PI products as an administrator in refining from 1996 to 1998. He now works as a product specialist for PI Server and PI SMT and has expertise in all other PI products, plus extensive background in customer training.

Rulik Perla joined OSIsoft in 1993 following several years working as a PI System integrator and application developer. Rulik currently is a lead developer on PI Server internals and is one of the original PI 3 developers. In conjunction with his work on continuous improvement of the core PI server, Rulik is dedicated to training and mentoring the new generation of PI developers.
