Joseph Milton
Joseph Milton is the Engineering Manager, Plant Performance, for Reliant Energy in Houston, Texas. His section is responsible for support and operation of the early equipment failure detection system and performance issues across the nationwide fleet. He has been employed for 27 years in the power generation business, most of this time with Houston Lighting and Power through many name changes ending with Reliant Energy. His jobs included thermodynamic modeling, heat rate monitoring, performance improvement, dispatch improvement and performance testing of combustion turbines, steam generators, overall plants and balance-of-plant components. Joseph has a BSME and MEME from the University of Florida, is a PE, is Vice President of the ASME Board on Standardization and Testing, Chairman of Performance Monitoring, and vice Chair of PTC 12.1. He is also a member of the ASME committee on Performance Test Codes and an ASME Fellow.
