Value Creation Within An Enterprise Agreement: One Company's Experience Partnering with OSIsoft
The only fully integrated fiber-based fresh-liquid packaging producer in the world, Evergreen Packaging consists of two pulp and paper mills, 5 converting plants, and an equipment and parts facility based in the U.S with additional operations in El Salvador, China, South Korea, and Taiwan and joint ventures in the Middle East and North Africa. For almost 30 years, the pulp and paper mills of Evergreen Packaging have been using the PI System to monitor operating conditions. The PI System has long been considered a critical part of mill operations, with a high level of already realized value. Despite its criticality, limits on tag counts and interfaces meant that tactical decisions were being made daily as to what data to keep and what to discard. Infrastructure was significantly behind current, and additional value was difficult to extract. Signing an Enterprise Agreement with OSIsoft in 2014 changed all of that. This presentation will outline Evergreen's 30 year journey with OSIsoft and the PI System, including: how the PI System has added value over that time, the use of OSIsoft's Field Services to upgrade Evergreen's aging servers without disrupting the business, the first steps with new PI System tools, examples of recent successes with PI Asset Framework, and multiple perspectives on their evolution to an Enterprise Agreement."
