EDP uses PI applications to maintain operational data quality across 200,000 real time data points covering Iberia to Brazil. Sensor malfunctions and misconfigurations can cause unplanned downtime, prevent timely malfunction detection and complicate correct process management. In addition, there’s the challenge of data forgery. What happens if the SCADA network is breached and control room operators are blind to the real state of the systems, while a malicious actor damages equipment or tampers with product? EDP searched for a technology that connects easily and transparently to its existing PI platform, to provide state awareness on the physical level - giving the engineers and operators in the control room full and verified information as to what is happening to their equipment, process and grid. EDP and APERIO Systems will discuss how to use your PI system to ensure reliable operations.
