Using PI to Change to Company:Vendor Relationship
GEA, the world's leading manufacturer of power cooling systems, uses PI for on-line monitoring of systems located at customer sites. This paper presents the details of how GEA uses the OSIsoft technologies with Industrial Evolution's data centralization services to bring additional value to customers, and how this is changing the company:vendor relationship.
Two projects are highlighted as examples: on-line monitoring of operations at the University of Alberta in Canada and at Front Range Power in Colorado. Data collection and transfer details are presented, along with details of how this real-time collaboration between customer and vendor can generate hundreds of thousands of dollars of additional profit for the operating company.
