PRESENTATION
2003 - User Conference
Using PI ACE and the Module Database to Leverage PI
Chelan County PUD installed a PI system to monitor the Rocky Reach and Rock Island Hydroelectric generating plants and the Power Dispatch systems in 2001. In 2002 the IT Monitor product was installed to monitor devices on the control network. PI is used to provide near-real time data to a variety of users throughout the PUD. These users have many different reporting requirements that are detailed in this presentation "Control" at Rock Island.
The job of Cruise Control is to keep the Rock Island headwater as close to our license limit of 613.0 without exceeding it. With a higher headwater we have a higher unit gross head and gain efficiency. We knew that PI would be helpful during the project, but soon realized that it was very helpful.
