Industry and government forecast project global energy demand to rise by almost 40% by 2030. This unprecedented opportunity for the O&G industry is matched by heightened scrutiny and growing demands for transparency from government, investors and consumers. In turn, more O&G industry participants are collaborating closely with their respective suppliers, partners and contractors to address these multiple evolving challenges. Many companies now view their sustainability strategy as an engine for new ideas to bring to this conversation to deliver on goals to improve productivity, grow shareholder value, reduce business risk and control costs. This panel will discuss the role data and information play in the sustainability equation as it relates to topics including pipeline safety and integrity, water use and impacts from fracking and emissions management. The panel will be moderated by Mr. Andrew Fanara, OSIsoft’s Sustainability Market Principal who will be joined by thought leaders sharing their expertise in a facilitated panel discussion and Q&A with the audience. Andrew Fanara
Andrew Fanara’s primary role is to assist OSIsoft customer’s across various industries to architect corporate sustainability strategies that leverage their real time operations data. Previously, he spent 15 years in the US Federal Government at the Environmental Protection Agency, where he was responsible for engaging the high tech community to raise the visibility of the energy efficiency opportunities in data centers. He also led the ENERGY STAR Product Specifications Development Team to identify products with superior energy and water efficiency. Working with industry partners, the team created nearly 100 product specifications for the residential and commercial sectors. He was also responsible for managing policy coordination with countries using ENERGY STAR in their markets, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Canada, China, India, the UK and the European Union. Fanara is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison and resides in Seattle Washington.
