CEMEX has been using the PI System for more than 20 years, evolving from simple and standalone PI System installations in cement manufacturing facilities to become the foundation of the company's cement production management system. Now CEMEX is focusing on the Democratization of Data, whose main purpose is to deliver operational data to extended audiences in the company so they can analyze information without relying on power users or analysts to provide this insight to them.
CEMEX has worked with the PI Integrator for Business Analytics to address the Data Democratization process, and has confirmed that its use has considerably eased the process for extracting operational data from the PI System, enabling them to meet high demands for performing data analysis quickly and flexibly in BI tools. The PI Integrator for Business Analytics has removed the complexity from the data extraction equation, so CEMEX can now focus on information analysis to provide value and deliver insights to decision makers.

Rodrigo Quintero
Rodrigo Quintero has a bachelors degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IME) from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and also an MS in Materials Science and Engineering, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering - both from MIT. He has been working at CEMEX for 15 years.
He is currently the Operations Model and Planning Manager of Global and Technical Operations and is responsible for the evolution of CEMEX’s Operations Model, its governance and supporting tools in order to guarantee operational continuity, competitiveness and integrity of the company’s operational assets."
