The Usage of PI Analysis and SQC to Reduce Deviations in Fill Finish Lines.
In the past, several recent events in Abbott Nutrition have revealed the lack of knowledge of critical process parameters, lack of data collection and review, Abbott Nutrition vision is to be a company where Process Control is used to characterize product and processes and to improve capacity in all sites. This presentation will outline Abbott Nutrition approach to implement PI SQC Analysis helping the operators and engineers to reduce number of exceptions that results in lower cost of quality, faster batch release, increase yields and finally rework/destructs reduction improving customer protection. We will navigate through the different phases during the packaging flexible project execution and the complete data flow integration from OPC servers to external SPC applications with PI System as core.

Julio Lopez Ortega
Julio López combines a 17-years career at Abbott with the last year as subject matter expert of Process Monitoring and Control initiative in Abbott Nutrition. Starting as IT and Automation Engineer, supporting all kinds of IT-OT initiatives and plant shutdowns since 2006, where modern automation systems were implemented, he discovered his passion for PI system taking advantage of a global initiative to expansion this product worldwide. As a lead solution Engineer he worked on the proof of concept project to implement SPC using the PI System as platform, integrating Analytic and Visualization PI features in the PM&C Workstream started during 2016, stablishing depth collaboration with our Center of Excellence and Field Service teams. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from University of Granada, a postgraduate study in Automation and Green Belt Six Sigma certification.

Jose Miguel Gutierrez Guerrero
José Miguel currently works at Abbott Laboratories in the Granada, Spain factory. He started as an IT and Automation Engineer in industrial vehicles and concrete plants. After that, he worked with business intelligence systems to analyze incoming process data for industrial environments. Currently, he is working on optimizing the PI System platform's potential from a data modeling and analysis point of view. Thus improving the industrial process performance at the Abbott Granada Plant. He has also implemented PI System installations at the University of Granada to develop a project regarding the OPC UA standard and Analysis Framework, and to introduce the PI System in the University community in Granada. José Miguel holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Granada, and a postgraduate degree in Real Time Software Development. He is currently finishing his PhD in Metamodels for the Industrial Environment based on OPC-UA.
