The opening keynote will discuss common initiatives and trends impacting the batch/event focused industries. This session will provide the foundation for the Life Sciences, Specialty Chemicals and Food & Beverage session by outlining the agenda, highlighting key user presentations and discussing how the PI System provides the foundation for key business drivers. The presentation will discuss the areas of focus for OSIsoft and the emerging use cases for the PI System highlighting key partnerships in the industry including Esri.

Michael Purcell
Michael Purcell is Director of the Industry Group at OSIsoft. He is also the acting Industry Principal for Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Specialty Chemicals at OSIsoft. Mr. Purcell has been working with OSIsoft since 1995 and as an employee since 2008 primarily in the Life Sciences and other process industries. He has worked in some capacity with most of the top 10 Pharmaceutical companies and with a significant number of BioTech companies in areas such as R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing and technical operations. Mr. Purcell has a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Temple University.
