As the PI Customer base has grown, so has the demand for larger systems. Just a few years ago 150,000 point systems were considered very large. Now there is demand for 1 million and even larger point counts. Of course, with large point counts, there is additional load on all aspects of the PI System: more users, more data, more interfaces, and higher security. The PI 3.4 development effort focused on scaling issues and has achieved a 10 fold increase in size and data throughput. This presentation will demonstrate PI 3.4 scalability, cover new features designed to help manage large systems and discuss some of the technology behind these improvements.
