In 2008 we were looking for methods to enhance our capability of monitoring the vibration of Generating Turbines through dynamic speed ranges. To solve this problem, we created an anomaly detection algorithm that was generic, scalable, and easy to use for non-data scientists and could take in many more inputs than just vibration. So, we plugged it into the company PI system and SpheriCAL was born.
Over the years we have applied SpheriCAL all sorts of assets, across all the main generation technologies: CCGT, OCGT, Coal, Hydro, Wind, and even Solar. We have increased our capabilities adding more machine learning and developing our SMART systems, culminating in the Virtual Analyst. Our goal is to continually improve the Virtual Analyst, as we convert more and more SpheriCAL insights into value for O&M staff.
Today, we deliver insight on never seen before issues, building a knowledge base and delivering more value by targeting issues with our SMART solutions. This is our data journey

Between 2008-2009, he researched, designed, and built SpheriCAL - Uniper's Advanced Condition Monitoring software and monitoring solution for all assets within power generation.
In 2012 Ty worked as the Technical Lead for Advanced Condition Monitoring in competition with GE's SmartSignal at Enfield CCGT power station.
In 2013 he was the Technical lead in the international roll out of Advanced Condition Monitoring.
In 2014 Ty was the Technical lead for production solutions online and predictive analytics and for innovation within asset improvement.
In 2016 E.ON created a new company named Uniper Technologies Ltd. Ty is currently the Product Manager for Digital Innovations within Production Solutions at Uniper Technologies Ltd.
