Tank to Boardroom: Remote Inventory Management comes of Age!
With the advent of low-cost transmitters and wireless communications, Remote Inventory Management has emerged as a powerful means for process manufacturers and their customers to reduce stored material volumes, while still meeting consumption demands.
This presentation details the three levels of Inventory Management available to the process industries today: remote data collection, advanced inventory calculations, and enterprise / supply chain integration. The use of technology from OSIsoft is described for each level, from the PI System and PI-to-PI for data collection; ProTraq for inventory management, and R-Link for ERP integration. References to an actual project and user interfaces are included.
