Take Exception to Being the Last to Know: How PI Notifications Keep You in Charge
A critical component of any real-time data system is the ability to notify the right people at the right time when operational excursions occur. PI Notifications is the cornerstone of the PI System's new alerting paradigm. The key PI Notifications features include redundancy/high availability, escalation queue management, and historization of all alerts and their actions. We will discuss and demonstrate these and other features during this talk.

Don Baron
Don Baron is the Product Manager for OSIsoft’s PI Notifications and PI Analysis product suite, focusing on delivering well designed and strongly featured products to market. Prior to this role, Don was the development lead for MCN Health Monitor. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been working for OSIsoft since 2003.

Alex Zheng
Alex Zheng is the PI Server Team Lead, focusing on the PIANO development. He earned his BSChE degree from Clemson University in 1990, and his Ph.D. from Caltech in 1995. Before joining OSIsoft in 2000, he was an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While at UMass, he received the prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation and was the College of Engineering Teacher of the Year in 1999-2000. He worked for Air Products and Chemicals in 1995-1996. He enjoys cooking and playing tennis.
