In today's manufacturing environments, volume of accessible data is unprecedented—and it will continue to grow as enterprises and society continues to invest in sensors and infrastructure. The ability to analyze this data and utilize this data in decision-making must improve substantially to realize the Power of Data. Microsoft has a fundamental goal of "Democratization of Business Intelligence"—bringing BI to everyone. OSIsoft realizes that data and events collected with the PI System is part of business decision-making, and they are working with Microsoft to make this integration simple, fast, reliable and secure. We will discuss the latest advances in business analytics and how Microsoft and OSIsoft are working together to combine the data infrastructure of the PI System with the user friendly capabilities of Microsoft's self-service business intelligence stack [with SQL 2012, SharePoint 2010].
