SPIRIT – The Janssen Journey to One Enterprise PI System for Real Time Value

SPIRIT is an initiative to drive the usage and standardization of the OSIsoft PI System across Janssen by ensuring alignment of Content, Execution and Visualization of Janssen process and facility data so that it will be a key enabler for strategic initiatives like Continued Process Verification, Process Analytical Technology and Product Lifecycle Management.

Carl van Laer

CARL VAN LAER has been working in the IT manufacturing space for 30 years as a system architect, program and project manager. He has been with Janssen Pharmaceutical for eight years managing OSIsoft's PI System and MES application deployment for Janssen Supply Chain. He is currently based on the Beerse site in Belgium, is the application owner of the OSIsoft PI System infrastructure and is working on standardizing system architecture, deployment and support. Prior to Janssen, Van Laer was with Egemin (system integrator) and Hoogovens (metal industry) – always working in the ISA-S95 L3 and L2 landscape. He has a Bachelor's degree in Informatics.
