We have a several PI implementations across the enterprise, collecting 80,000 points of real-time power generation and market data. We are developing a suite of power management tools which will be used to extract and store the consolidated data in support of our operations, using VS.NET and the PI Data Access kit. We have chosen the PI-SDK and the module database as the foundation of our software design. Our applications are not "tag aware", rather they are "module database aware", and fully utilize the module database. Our presentation focuses on describing how this architecture is both cost and technically effective.
