SMLC - The Growing Value of Information in Industry and Manufacturing Infusing intelligence into the entire manufacturing ecosystem, addressed as a network of networks, moving among seams - between machines, within plants, across enterprises, throughout the value chain- is the vision of the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC). Smart decisions, and ever increasing smarter decisions, will occur when existing and legacy data/information/systems are knitted together and then orchestrated with new sources and analytic capabilities to evoke transforming actionable directions and guidance. This must be in conjunction with integrating emerging and new advanced manufacturing technologies on a business driven glide path. And, it is paramount to establish an implementation architecture that is affordable and accessible to all: small, medium and large enterprises. The session will discuss SMLC's history, strategy, and efforts in making this vision a reality.
