Safety Parameter Display System Using PI
A new Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) was implemented at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station using PI-Server, PI-Processbook and PI-Datalink in March 2000. SPDS is a real-time system, receiving data every 1 to 5 seconds for 5500 points. The system receives 100 of its most critical points from an RTP 2200, redundant multiplexer. The data is received through a fully redundant PI-Net node. The PI-Server runs on Windows NT Cluster with dual network connections using FDDI. The Client side of SPDS is a PI-Processbook piw file that contains 14 required displays and 51 supplemental displays. All displays in SPDS are customized using VBA. A third party Active-X control was used for custom X-Y plots. Dose Calculations and Population Dose requirements are met using PI-Datalink. This is accessed through the SPDS piw file.
