RtPM for Asset and Environmental Monitoring
PI was introduced to the National Grid in 1999 as a result of Government legislation to reduce emissions to the atmosphere by 10% per annum. PI provided the answer to ‘where are we now’ questions and a means to develop and demonstrate to legislation the procedures and current effectiveness of the reduction process. By being able to provide this data in real-time, PI provided substantial cost savings to the organization. Further legislation and business drivers have meant continual development of PI. Significant projects are now underway to develop complex emission calculations using PI ACE and RtWebParts for visualization of KPIs across the organization.
