The modern utility is facing unprecedented challenges. They must reliably deliver energy to millions of customers. Adding to this challenge, in San Diego Gas & Electric-Sempra Energy's case, tens of thousands of distributed generation sites, a growing number of electric vehicles, and millions of new monitoring and control points. Reliably delivering energy simply cannot be accomplished without information, along with advanced systems and analytics. Alan will explore two very successful programs that are key to San Diego Gas & Electric-Sempra Energy, including foundational GIS, asset reliability through condition based maintenance, and distributed resource integration
