Williams is an energy infrastructure company focused on connecting North America's significant hydrocarbon resource plays to growing markets for natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and olefins. Williams' owns and operates midstream gathering and processing assets, interstate natural gas pipelines and produces olefins for petrochemical feedstock. Williams's operations span across the United States including assets in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Among these assets Williams operates many reciprocating Natural Gas compressors (over 900 with a HP rating greater than 1000 HP) that are operating in critical service where unplanned or extended outages can result in considerable business impacts. The OSIsoft PI System is being used to monitor, evaluate and access the condition of these assets in order to reduce undesired down time and improve equipment efficiency.
