ComEd/Exelon has been working with PowerWorld Corp. for about two years to integrate PI into PowerWorld and to create new displays utilizing the capability. The result is a special version of the PowerWorld software called PowerWorld Retriever. The first Retriever displays went on-line in ComEd's control room a year ago, and ComEd's transmission planners have recently started using the displays for their own purposes. A description of this work was recently presented at the 2002 Power Systems Computing Conference in Seville, Spain.

Title: Senior Engineer, Transmission Operations Facility
Transmission Operations facility in Lombard, IL, where his activities include load forecasting, demand side management, power systems visualization, and research related to finding improved ways to operate the electrical grid. He was awarded the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1987 and 1989, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998. Prior to beginning his Ph.D. studies at the Georgia Tech, he was employed as an electrical engineer at Southern Research Technologies in Birmingham, Alabama, where he designed digital hardware and wrote software for guided missiles and airborne
data-acquisition platforms. His technical interests also include the integration of renewable energy sources into the energy supply.
