PRESENTATION
2012 - Metals, Mining, and Metallurgy Users Group Meeting
Real-Time Information Systems in Mining and Metals
The intensive utilization of information technologies is the new operational baseline for the mining business, ranging from GPS-based mine truck management to remote operations and services. In this scenario the PI System can be seen as the "nervous system" of the operation, by integrating and giving context to the actionable information, providing its access to users and systems. In the presentation, a conceptual model for the information will be presented, with application examples from operations in Chile and Peru.
