As major oil and gas companies dispose of their aging assets, they have a need to transition their operating data to the new owner. The problem in this transition is that this operational data is typically mingled with proprietary data of other assets that can not be passed to the new owner. In 2010, Industrial Evolution helped three companies in this transition process installing and configuring the PI System, interfacing it to the data source and populating it with past history from the original owner that was collected by staging a temporary PI Server and using PI-to-PI in data recovery mode on the cloud to collect the history for the approved tags.
