Rail Yard Operational Excellence at Olin Bécancour
Continuing the pursuit for operational excellence, Olin Chemicals has modernized their rail yards to improve stock visibility, reduce shipping errors, and improve overall rail yard management. Updating a manual monitoring and management system to the PI System allowed Olin to leverage their existing PI System infrastructure to include processes outside of the plant that are critical to perfect order delivery. Providing real-time reporting for batch tracking, inventory, status, and output, the new system provides increased visibility across the site allowing better decision making and faster reaction times to schedule changes.

Antoine Bouvet-Morrissette
Antoine Bouvet-Morrissette holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA, from the University of Trois-Rivières. Antoine has worked for Olin Chloralkali Products for the past seven years. He started his career as a project engineer and later moved to the maintenance department as a reliability engineer working on improving mechanical runtime, preventive maintenance, and global maintenance efficiency. Antoine then transitioned into the role of piping and mechanical supervisor where he was responsible for schedule compliance and a team of maintenance technicians. Throughout these various roles, Antoine has been involved in several technical projects as well as organizational and operational changes. For nearly two years now, Antoine has served as the head of the loading and shipment department for production. In this role, he has concentrated on improving safety, loading processes, and rail yard flow efficiency. Some of his recent achievements include establishing a versatile work schedule and culture and contributing to the elaboration, management, and implementation of the PI System rail yard project. With the goal of promoting safe business practices throughout the chemical industry, Antoine actively participates in technical seminars, given by Olin, for clients. Antoine's main subjects of interest are business optimization, organizational culture, and the use of technology integration.
