Qualcomm: Providing Real-time Insight into the Operations of a Professional Sports Stadium
Owners and managers of stadiums and arenas worldwide are turning to IoT technologies to gain real-time insight into their operations to reduce costs, meet sustainability goals and improve the overall customer experience.
This session will demonstrate how OSIsoft and Qualcomm Intelligent Solutions Inc., a leader in wireless communications and edge intelligence solutions, are collaborating with the San Diego Padres to reduce operational expenses by more than 25% in the next five years at Petco Park. Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, California, Petco Park is an outdoor stadium with a seating capacity of 42,445 and is the home of the Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres.
Petco Park began using OSIsoft's PI System in 2015 to monitor and manage utility and water consumption as part of its overall energy reduction strategy and is already realizing the benefits. Attendees will learn how Petco Park is managing and using their PI System data and how this may help any type of building or facility realize similar operational savings.
In this session, you will also learn about the challenges of a fragmented M2M/IoT communications market and how the oneM2M standard can provide the right framework for platform services to enable scale, security and connectivity to expand the PI System's ecosystem.
