NaturEner's Glacier Wind farm is a unique entity in the electrical grid. It is the first wind generation facility that has operated as a wind-only balancing authority. This poses a number of challenges in operating the wind farm reliably and economically, as we are faced with the additional complexity of integrating into the electrical system and selling our energy as a merchant plant. The PI System, as well as our partnerships with OSIsoft partners, Versify and Transpara, have enabled us to consolidate data from the various entities which we work with to monitor, report, and optimize our operating assets and their integration into the electrical grid. This presentation will document how we have used the PI System to integrate data from our wind farm, our balancing authority, the electrical grid, weather data and forecasts, and the energy markets to expose real-time information to our 24-hour operations desk. We will also discuss how we are using this data to improve our economic performance and reliable operations.
