Over the past five years Eastman Chemical Company has performed a desktop rollout from XP to Vista/Office 2007 and is currently working to migrate to the Windows 7/Office 2010 environment. They currently have approximately 5000 client machines that utilize PI System applications in addition to approximately 150 site-developed applications that rely on the basic PI System infrastructure. Migrating approximately 5000 client machines is not an easy task and one that requires a large coordination effort. This presentation will discuss Eastman Chemical Company’s implementation plan of migrating from XP or Vista to Windows 7/Office2010. It will also cover supporting topics, such as: deployed software, learning and tips, issues, and best practices.
