Overview of the implementation of PI within a fleet of modern CCGT power plants including the provision of a common DCS interface, access to other data sources such as web based market prices and weather forecasts. The use of PI to PI interfaces to improve real-time data access throughout the fleet particularly to trading staff as part of a wider scheme for the effective dissemination of management data throughout a multinational organization. Other initiatives include mimicked operator screens with use of the MDB through scripting to access information held in relational databases such as the permit and maintenance management systems; and remote data access utilizing PI ICE and wireless hand held devices.
