PI Event Frames - Moving Forward with Data Access and Client Support
PI Event Frames, a new capability of the PI System that was released in PI Server 2010 R3, enables customers and partners to record and organize important process or business events to help you find relevant data. Examples of these events include downtime tracking, overall equipment efficiency, process excursions and other time-range-based analytics. The initial release delivered an infrastructure for developing custom and partner applications, and it provides the basis for future PI Event Frames functionality throughout the PI System. With this release and Wave 1 behind us, we will share more details on the current state of the PI Event Frames roadmap. We will also preview the upcoming support for PI Event Frames in PI Data Access products, which will enable event frames to be consumed in scenarios like Business Intelligence (BI), reporting and various other systems integration setups.

Todd Brown
Todd Brown is the Product Manager for PI Event Frames. Previously, Todd was an engineer in the OSIsoft Center of Excellence group, focusing on pharmaceutical and batch industries. Prior to OSIsoft, he worked for Merck & Co., Inc. at their global headquarters in New Jersey where he held several positions in their Process Information Systems and Automation group. Todd has over ten years of experience, having worked with PI System-related applications, batch reporting applications, manufacturing data analysis applications, and Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Chris Nelson
Chris Nelson is currently the PI Event Frames (Batch) software development lead at OSIsoft. Prior to joining OSIsoft, Chris worked for Merck & Co., Inc., as a Manager in both Clinical Trial Systems and Manufacturing Process Information Systems. Chris has 15 years of experience in software development, having designed manufacturing information and data analysis systems as well as participating in various control system implementations.
