PI is rapidly becoming a standard among major corporations for sharing real-time data. Shell presents how high-speed downhole and process data are retrieved from a competitive database on a BP platform in the Gulf of Mexico, then securely transferred into a PI System at Shell. Petro-Canada collects land-based gas well data into various systems and then brings this into a central PI System for web-based access by their own staff and Joint Venture partners. Both use the central PI System at Industrial Evolution and OSIsoft RtPM technologies.
