With release of PI AF 2012, the PI AF SDK has been enhanced with added methods for accessing both PI AF and time series data from the PI Server in a high performance manner. Here we provide performance metrics and comparisons in various configurations and usage scenarios.

Ray Hall
Ray Hall is OSIsoft’s Director of Development for Servers and Interfaces.
In this role, he is focused on delivering highly scalable and reliable server
components, as well as the hundreds of PI Interfaces to systems. Ray began
his career with the company in 2002 as a group lead and worked to develop
PI Asset Framework (PI AF) which allows the definition of organizational
assets for PI System data. Prior to joining OSIsoft, he developed batch
automation systems at Sequencia and paper machine control systems
at Accuray. Ray earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
from Oregon State University in 1983., and a Master’s degree in chemical
engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1985.
