Pervasive Data Collection for Industry 4.0
The operational data landscape is evolving and more data than ever is being generated today due to the increasing availability of low cost sensors, ubiquitous network connectivity, and increased energy efficiencies; the collection of these technologies is commonly referred to as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). This new data is improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our industrial assets and the health and safety our workers, but often the need is to collect the data directly from the data source and not first aggregate it in a traditional PI System data source like an automation system. New data collection capabilities are being added to the PI System to enable the collection and storage of this data as close to the data source as possible so the value of this data can be achieved. Join us in this session to learn more about the new PI connector technologies and PI System deployment options and how these capabilities will help you realize the potential of IIoT.
