Janssen has implemented and integrated an MES system and historian system to support biotechnological manufacturing processes in different sites. The implementation is based on Werum’s MES product PAS-X and the OSIsoft PI System.
Werum and OSIsoft are advancing the architecture of Manufacturing Execution Systems by working together as partners. Werum's PAS-X is the leading Manufacturing Execution System in the pharmaceutical industry for efficiently running a plant's operations in compliance with regulatory requirements. OSIsoft's PI System is installed to expose all the plant equipment’s real-time data and events to the business using many OSIsoft PI Interfaces and the PI System. Both the PAS-X System and the PI System have been architected to integrate natively.
The PI System benefits the Werum PAS-X System by providing a single, highly available infrastructure for real-time data abstraction that expands PAS-X connectivity, providing long-term archiving of process data integrated with recipe context from the PAS-X System, and expanding the analysis and report capabilities of PAS-X.
Werum PAS-X benefits the PI System by providing recipe (MBR) driven execution of manufacturing business processes that capture process, equipment, quality, material and personnel data in Electronic Batch Records (EBR) and Log Books, providing workflows for quality assessment of events, giving recipe and batch context, and providing further transactional integration with a various number of level 4,3,2 systems such as LIMS, DMS or Scales.
Janssen and Werum will present jointly. Janssen’s presentation discusses the implementation approach and the achieved results, while Werum discusses the partnership and the resulting unique selling points for the integrated solution including benefits for the customer.
