2015 - Regional Conference - Sao Paulo
Panel - Current Challenges in the Latin American Electrical Sector
ABRADEE is the Brazilian Association of the Electricity Distributors, it is non-profit association with more than 40 years of dedication in the development of the Brazilian electricity distribution sector. The association brings together 42 electricity distribution companies (private and state-owned) and its main duties are to give technical, commercial, financial and institutional support for these companies. AES Eletropaulo is the electric distributor in the São Paulo city area. It is considered the biggest distributor in Brazil in terms of the amount of electricity distributed. Since São Paulo is an area with high demographic density and with the highest GDP in Brazil, the challenges are always present and in high scale. CCEE enables the energy commercialization in the Brazilian market since 2004. Its main activities are to calculate the PLD (price utilized for energy commercialization in short term), regulate the energy commercialization and create auctions in the ACR (regulated commercialization ambient). The participants discussed the new Brazilian electric sector panorama. The main concerns and how we are prepared for distributed generation."
