In this short talk, we show you how to leverage OSIsoft learning resources to transform your classroom. We start by summarizing the transformation story that MIT shared with us last year at the 2016 OSIsoft Academic Symposium. We then share the resources that will enable you to similarly transform in your curricula.
First, all materials from OSIsoft public training classes are freely available to you, and we show how to access them. Materials include student and instructor workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, and simulated data sets with asset context. OSIsoft public training courses are applicable across many industries, and you can easily adapt them to make them your own. Next, we share example kits that will help you to do this. The kits are available from the AF Community Library. They show how PI is used to address common industry problems, include sample data sets that could be used in coursework, and provide best practices for implementing PI to meet your desired use cases. Finally, we overview the TechCon Learning Labs that have been delivered at recent OSIsoft Users Conferences. The labs contain end-to-end exercises that could be used as modules within your own courses. Labs include datasets with asset contexts, exercises with clear learning objectives, and defined solutions. We discuss how to access the corresponding course materials and integrate these topics into your courses.
