The EU NIS Directive is expected to harmonize member state approaches to cyber security. Requirements apply to essential service operators with scope including industrial IT systems. State of the art posture and the potential for penalties of up to €10 million positions the NIS as the highest standard of care affecting global enterprises using the PI System. We discuss potential for partnership that addresses key aspects of implementation.

Bryan Owen is the Principal Cyber Security Manager at OSIsoft. He is a pioneer in realizing value from the PI System, with experience dating back to one of the first systems in 1985. After decades in the field and many large-scale deployments, Bryan now manages cyber security initiatives at OSIsoft. Current activities range from advanced security technology and incident response, to raising security IQ through intensive hackathons at vCampus Live!
