Noble Energy Inc. has grown extensively over the past 10 years. With this tremendous growth came diverse assets, new technology and massive and accelerating amounts of data. Noble Energy now operates conventional and unconventional oil and gas assets in Africa, Eastern Mediterranean, Gulf of Mexico, Marcellus and the Denver-Julesberg (DJ) basin. The investment in OSIsoft's PI System for international assets in 2009 began a path that culminated in the execution of an Enterprise Agreement (EA) in late 2014 for all of Noble's onshore and offshore assets. The path to realizing the potential value of an EA for Noble Energy and the transformation of Noble Energy's view of data as an asset continues to evolve, and is being driven by changes in the industry in regard to new unconventional production assets, technology, regulatory climate, workforce and increasing availability, demand and usage of data. Noble Energy views OSIsoft's PI System as a key differentiator in our operational data management portfolio and a potential competitive advantage in the near to mid-term time frame, and has already seen early benefits of the value of an EA.
