At BioMarin we push the boundaries of biotechnology including striving toward new methods to analyze and improve our manufacturing processes. Over the last year, we migrated PI data to the cloud to prove that co-location of corporate data would facilitate improved data analytics. During our journey we met significant resistance including challenges with communication, culture and technology. Our team muscled through each of these challenges, learning valuable lessons while ensuring our goal of providing a superior analytical solution for the Bioinformatics space. Craig Taylor
Craig Taylor is a manufacturing automation industry expert with 20+ year of experience in multiple industries focused on system architecture and project management. During his career he has become a recognized process monitoring software expert both within BioMarin, Roche/Genentech, California ISO and externally with multiple presentation focused on project deployment, software selection, design and development. A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Craig earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and as further preparation to take his engineering skills to the private sector, he attended the University of California, Davis’ Graduate School of Management where, in 2002, he received a Master of Business Administration. Craig is currently holds the role of Associate Director, heading BioMarin’s Scientific Platforms department focused on providing global technical support of computer systems used in the Biotechnology manufacturing and laboratory arenas.

Nick Clark is an IT expert with 12+ years of experience in the BioTechnology industry focused on system architecture and laboratory systems support. During his career he has become a recognized IT professional within BioMarin focused on project deployment, software selection, system design, development and maintenance. A graduate of the California State University East Bay, Nick earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Information Technology Management. Nick currently holds the role of Senior Manager, leading a team of Architects, Engineers and Technicians in the Information Management Scientific Platforms department.
