As advanced sensors, mobile technology and the Internet of Things expose a flood of operational data, leaders search how to capitalize on “big data.” Dr. Kennedy will address these emerging trends and how OSIsoft’s fundamental mission, to ensure that customers have access to their data whenever, however and wherever needed, remains fundamental in this environment. Little data means big money – whether on the plant floor or in the C-suite, operational data continue to serve as the foundation for informed decision making. Dr. Kennedy will discuss how a PI System approach serves to shape, validate and protect critical data – creating accurate, traceable and actionable information. Scale, flexibility and connectivity— “Big” data starts off as little data. Over time, PI System users have evolved from monitoring single, critical assets to plant areas to entire plants and finally across plants. As barriers to efficient connectivity are lowered, data ecosystems supported by the PI System are potentiating Connected Services, Transportation and Smart City initiatives. Partners: other companies provide software for instrumentation, analysis or services that our customers need. Last year, OSIsoft decided to enhance our relationship with these companies through an improved Partner Program. We continue to find and work with the other companies to better integrate our products and serve our customers. Adhering to our core values – as technology advances, OSIsoft works to support each and all of its customers. Industrial users consider the life of a process unit to be on the order of 50 years thus having software with a life of 5 years is simply not acceptable. Our goal is to build the most appropriate system for today while future proofing our users and protecting their investment and to keep the company sound enough to continue doing so.
