Mine production throughput and mining plans are sensitive to the variability of the maintenance availability. The mission of monitoring conditions is to detect those potential failures early enough for increasing equipment reliability and thus its availability. The problem was that, not always OEM real time alarms and reports were delivered in a timely fashion way to take the appropriate proactive actions on a 34 trucks fleet. The challenge was implementing the use of a simple tool, to provide data analysis in real time with information of the main components (Engine, Suspension, Payload and Brakes). A team developed a solution using PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Coresight, along with and Interfaces to create a real time monitoring system. Today, Pueblo Viejo Mine Maintenance Dpt, has the ability to monitor and get real time alerts along with proactive actions, upon those potential failures before they materialize into an unscheduled downtime, delivering a more reliable and cost controlled fleet.
