Distributed energy management systems (DERMS) play a critical role in an increasingly renewable generation world. But most DERMS have had limited success in meeting a customers’ ultimate need: reliability. And while strong on scheduling and optimization of resources, DERMS cannot mitigate for real-time issues. Microgrids bring critical balance to grids in real-time, allowing for a smooth and successful customer service delivery that all DERMS customers require. This session will discuss the value of project solutions that bring together both microgrid technology and DERMS for the very best in reliability, power quality and control. And how OSIsoft’s PI system provides tangible benefits and is critical for meeting the needs of end-users. PXiSE leverages various PI Systems, such as PI AF, PI Vision, PI Historian, AF Builder, PI Notifications, PI Interfaces and Connectors. Flexible approaches with microgrid configuration, not customization, reduce costs and deploy quickly.
