Merck has the PI System installed across the enterprise and in multiple sites. Some challenges that Merck faces are the lack of standard PI System architecture, multiple deployment and support models, and inadequate user management processes. This has led Merck to seek a solution with OSIsoft’s Enterprise Agreement (EA). This talk will walk through Merck’s journey to an EA, the development of a standard PI System Core Build which is Merck’s suit of standardized OSIsoft technologies, standardized architecture and configuration, including standardized deployment and support model. The talk will also explain how this approach was used to deploy the PI System globally faster and cheaper and how the standardization benefits the long term support model.
