Low Carbon London is a £30 million program driven by UK Power Networks, largely funded through Ofgem's (the UK's energy industry regulator) Low Carbon Network Fund, to help develop smart electricity networks in Britain.
The Low Carbon London (LCL) program is evaluating innovative ways to deliver sustainable electricity to businesses and communities in a low carbon future.
A fundamental part of the LCL program has been the specification and implementation of an Operational Data Store (ODS), utilizing the PI System which interfaces with and stores significant amounts of data from numerous sources. As the program moves into the investigation and reporting phase, where interrogation of the captured datasets is essential, this presentation focuses on the infinitive and integrated approach the program has taken for dealing with large and varied data to make it relevant and useful to the Distribution Network Operators.
