Halifax Water provides drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and fire protection services to approximately 400,000 residents of Halifax Regional Municipality. Halifax Water has been internationally recognized as a leader in water loss control, a worldwide problem that sees over 1.7 trillion gallons of treated water lost annually in the United States alone. Halifax Water is a long time PI System user and will present on how the PI System helped them achieve their water loss reduction goals.

Graham MacDonald
Graham MacDonald is Technical Services Superintendent for Halifax Water. He has overall responsibility for all Halifax Water SCADA and control systems, process communication, and process data management. In this role he is technical lead for their Water Loss Control, leading the development of metering and monitoring systems required for implementing the program. Graham has been involved in the development of Halifax Water’s district metered areas (DMA’s), and advanced pressure management systems. Graham also has twenty years’ experience as a leak detection practitioner and is an authority on leak detection and metering technology.
