MOL is aggressively leveraging the PI System across its downstream value chain to successfully process opportunity crudes. The production units were designed to process a given type of crude. Any changes in the composition of the crude oil affects each production units and the downstream value chain. These changes can cause serious problems due to changing load on the assets, changing efficiency, fouling or different corrosion mechanisms.
This presentation will outline our strategy for rationalizing and distributing anlaytics accross our IT Infrastructure, PI System and PI AF, and Machine Learning (MS Azure, R) enviornments to improve asset safety and integrity, asset reliability and performance, operational availability and optimization.

Gábor Mucsina is a Process Information Expert at MOL Group with process information and process automation responsibilities. His main role is to support the business with proper tools and solutions for planning, process optimization or process safety management. He has been working with the PI System as an administrator since 2013 and he has participated in the development process of many PI based solutions being used in the Danube Refinery. Mr. Mucsina holds an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in the field of Process Automation.
