PI Coresight was renamed PI Vision in 2017
Driven by the French Energy Regulatory Commission's (CRE) desire to improve gas metering quality and reporting across France with reinforcement by the associated bonus/penalty framework, TIGF embarked on a program in 2010 to evolve their use of the PI System as a key element to improve their ability to address increasingly difficult gas metering quality reporting requirements.
TIGF entered an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with OSIsoft to gain access to OSIsoft CoE expertise, upgrade their PI System infrastructure to be fully redundant with unrestricted use of PI System infrastructure software, and to ensure continuous PI System availability by implementing Managed PI (mPI) with the associated Network Operations Center (NOC) monitoring.
This presentation will review TIGF's journey with the PI System from inception through the EA, the business drivers and decisions for using the PI System as a key element of the plan to address the CRE's gas metering quality reporting requirements, and a summary of the main architectural design considerations leading to what was implemented. In particular, the use of the PI Systems High Availability (HA) and associated fully redundant data flow will be discussed. A summary of business results and associated performance against the bonus/penalty framework will be used to validate the decision to leverage the PI System and OSIsoft's EA program and TIGF's overall perspective of the OSIsoft?s EA program.
The presentation will include key architectural diagrams, screen shots, and other information to illustrate how the following PI System products are being used: PI AF, PI HA, the Universal File Loader (UFL), PI WebParts, and PI Coresight.
